stfttThis past weekend I was able to attend the sold out “Survival Tactics For Tough Times” event in Atlanta, hosted by Mark Joyner and Matt Basak.  It was an all-star line-up of speakers including Mark and Matt, plus Shawn Casey, Marshall Sylver, Joe Sugarman, Ted Nicholas, Robert Allen, Bill Glazer and others.

I took copious notes, and was really inspired.  My favorite sessions were by Matt Basak (on JV partnerships), Robert Allen (on multiple streams of income), and Ted Nicholas (on copywriting).

But the vaue of these events goes waaaay beyond the speakers you hear. I got to meet up with a whole bunch of online friends, and network to meet new ones. I’ve been in contact with them already since arriving home, and I know it’s going to result in some great joint venture opportunities in the future.

It was definitely worth the 4 hours I spent sitting at Laguardia Airport in New York when my flight was cancelled and I had to wait for another one. It was worth every penny I spent. It was worth the time away from home, and the effort of going.

If you have the opportunity to get to an event in 2010, take it! Hope to see you there.

Phil

Let’s be realistic, what are the chances of being able to sit down for lengthy conversations with one of the big names in IM? Unless, of course, you’re prepared to pay huge amounts of money to have them as your coach. That is not within the reach of every internet marketer.

Fortunately, the megastars do not have a monopoly on good information. I have some friends in the game who have given me incredible help and insights to take me up to the next level each time that I’ve needed it most.

Having said that, I’ve figured out a way that I can have one of the gurus as my close friend, confidant and mentor. So can you!

succ_failThe best piece of advice I was ever given was that I should study what successful people are doing and copy them.  More specifically, find out what they are doing that others AREN’T.  In other words, what sets them apart from the crowd.

Here are five things I’ve observed that we all may already know.  But successful marketers don’t just “know” these things, they DO them …

tomWhatever aspect of internet marketing you’re talking about, there is probably no other single thing that affects success more than keeping your eye on the WIIFM factor.  WIIFM = “What’s In It For Me?”

When a prospective customer is reading your sales letter and considering your product, you’d better answer the one question they’re always asking, “What’s In It For Me?”
