I have regularly made the statement that “JV Giveaway Events are the fastest way to start building a subscriber list from scratch.”  I stand by that.

But this past week I received a note from a subscriber raising a question that is actually posed quite often. The honest objection is raised that in order to be a contributor to a Giveaway Event, you MUST promote that event, otherwise your offer will be removed by the Event hosts.  You can’t promote the event without a list.  So it’s a “Catch 22”.  You need the Giveaway to build a list, but you need a list to be in the Giveaway!

So, how then can I claim these Events are the fastest way to build “from scratch”?

I don’t usually write blog posts to promote JV Giveaway Events.  I have the Giveaway Events page, which is one of the most consistently visited pages on this blog, and so I leave it at that.

But today I had to highlight a particular event. Guido Nussbaum is “the Godfather of Giveaways”. Every time he launches one, it attracts HUGE attention and traffic, along with some of the biggest players in the business.  His Halloween Giveaway has become an anticipated tradition each year.

If you contribute a gift to The Halloween Giveway, and do your best to promote the event, you WILL sign up a stack of subscribers to your list. In fact, if you don’t normally ever pay the optional “upgrade” fee on these events, I would suggest you really consider it for this one. It’ll drive your listing higher up the pages and MULTIPLY your optins.
